from our fine friends at the BBC.
keep 'em coming......THE FROG FROM HELL!
this is hilarious. and true. from the beeb.
i am normally not ultra-interested in faith & science debates, but the recent frothing from richard dawkins in the god delusion has laid out a very interesting manifesto for "the new atheism." (new?) the demonstrable dogmatism and prerational anger that fuels his rhetoric undercuts his arguments time and again, making even his allies question his argumentative sanity.
alister mcgrath, oxford scientist and theologian, calls the book "a monumental own goal." quite funny. you can read his whole article here.
so this is my friend ed gitre.
we met while he was working at the university of chicago with chi alpha, an AoG campus ministry group. the most common occasion of our interaction was in the bookstore, when we would collide as we competed for the newest impossible deals from the hyde park powell's books. there is no greater bookstore on the earth.
ed has recently gone on to become a total stud. he has moved to jersey, where he became Edward J. K. Gitre, student of jackson lears in the history program there...he got this killer prize and, most important of all, he became a COPT!
well, not exactly. he became a COPTIC ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN, which is similar, and...well...kindof awesome.
ed(ward j.k. gitre) recently got married. check out his wedding picture. tell me that's not awesome.
it was really nice of them to put a picture of me holding a staff in the background. they didn't have to do that.
c'mon everyone...love edward j. k. gitre.
here's an arty picture of kathy and me that jen blevins sent along from this weekend's festivities surrounding eric and jane jeuland's wedding...
jenifer is a couple of weeks away from going to the philippines to take a nine-month graduate level training course in the aftercare of sexually traumatized trafficked children. a great and worthy risk. email me if you want to send her cash. five grand if you have it. trust me, it's a good investment.
also, while you're at it...check out the new JFCI website. they're on the up bigtime.
